Comparating paleheaded sf with normal and df
Youngs paleheaded df
Breeding tips
This mutation is not particularly difficult to breed but the transmission is not understood at 100% (normally semi-dominant), I expect results of few breeding tests. I saw a bird visually double factor paleheaded x normal, would have to give 100% paleheaded sf, but I got until now only normal (split paleheaded?). I saw in a contact in Belgium paleheaded sf 1 x normal female first gave a 100% normal (about 15-20 youngs) and with another female, 2 young paleheaded sf in one nest of 3 youngs. Myself, I have a couple "normal" x paleheaded sf which gives me almost as paleheaded df (8 youth 9), normal male is not derived from paleheaded. To be sure to have paleheaded, you can pair paleheaded df x paleheaded df but it is not easy to find birds of this mutation, less in different bloodlines, with the poor interest of collectors for this color.
My objectives in paleheaded
I would like to resolve the exact transmition of this mutation in first. make a work of selection in size. Make special combo, especially in cinnamon and opaline-cinnamon which give nice visual birds. Maybe try also in bronze fallow, like the color is near cinnamon, but in first I need to breed bronze fallow and paleheaded not split of mutations sex-linked (other than opaline) to not "spoil" bloodlines of bronze fallow.
